"Gingko" and "Arrayan" may be made by two different people, but the two tracks share many similarities. Here, digital errors that would normally try to be stifled are placed in the forefront—"Gingko" with its frequent buffering, clipping, and lagging, and "Arrayan" with its deafening, resonant clicks that are almost skull-rattling—you can almost picture yourself in the room with the producers as they make the tracks.

These errors are used just as beautifully as any other instruments (guitars and drum machines make up the landscape of "Gingko," and drone-like looped sampling is the backdrop of "Arrayan") and only further the notion that the two tracks here are living, breathing wildlife living in the titular trees.

This album is likely best complimented while sitting in the passenger seat of a car driving through the countryside, only to look at pictures of trees on your iPhone instead of looking directly out the window. Nature for the digital age.
