Retrac mainstay Caybee Calabash graces the label's presence once more with a reissue of her CHAOS//BARISTA alias's debut (just one of four albums for that alias alone in 2022!), "MELTY DEPENDENCY UNLIMITED"—an epic yarn of the artist's classic pairing of glitchy noise walls and sickly sweet chiptune melodies.

Clocking in at 20 tracks, 60 minutes, the album's winding path may contain many detours, but for every bit of humor and levity, there are just as many emotional passages and melodies that return to haunt your brain long after you've finished the album. For me, I've always thought of this album as the audio equivalent of a lazy day, staying in bed until 2 pm and then having Lucky Charms for breakfast while downing it with some crappy coffee. It's a familiar, comfortable feeling, but it's not entirely a happy one. However, it's better than feeling nothing.

The CD edition the artist and I have put together for this reissue is designed to be the quintessential way to experience this album, featuring exclusive art and an exclusive remaster.

I was supposed to be born, but by unknown order of events, my mind was imported into a USB stick. I am the first data-controlled human. I have a database in my mind and after the 18 years of my existence, and what has felt like an eternity, I think I have finally learned how to be content with myself. I wish I was born a human, and maybe one day I can be uploaded into a human shell, a body of my own. To look at me and recognize the person I imagine in my mind. I want to pinch my skin and feel something. I want to become mortal. Although I know everything, I only experienced the inward way of life, not the human/outward way. I find myself fascinated by what the furthest reaches of human knowledge is, or what no one knows, I want to go to space. Maybe there I can find myself.
